"VivoAcademy": Vivolight’s First International OCT Academic Program Successfully Launched!
The "VivoAcademy" program is the most important event in 2024, which involved cardiologists from Asia and Latin America, aims to building the academic exchange platform for both international and Chinese interventional cardiologists. This program mainly focuses on Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) application in intravascular intervention.
10 cardiologists from Venezuela and Mexico were invited to join this event, including Dr. Andrea Robaina, president of the Venezuelan Cardiovascular Association. The delegates participated the 2024 CICF and professional education program in Queen Mary Hospital & CUHK Medical Centre in HK. And then they had the company tour in the headquarters of Vivolight Medical.

On March 20, the delegates visited the Chinese University of Hong Kong Hospital and Queen Mary Hospital, attending lectures, case sharing and live case demos. This visit offered an opportunity for our international clients to interact with Hong Kong physicians. During the Program, Prof. Chan Yu-Ho and his team shared their valuable experience of OCT application. All of them expressed a strong interest in promoting more exchange events so as to advance academic and clinical practice excellence.
On March 21, a company tour was arranged at Vivolight headquarters in Shenzhen. The delegates visited the company’s showroom, where the development milestones and product portfolio were introduced. The soon-to-be-released diagnostic and therapeutic devices sparked strong interest. And the delegates' technical inquiries regarding the OCT equipment were comprehensively addressed via a Q&A session.
The tour showcased the world's premier automated production line for OCT optical fiber probes, underscoring the company's dedication to quality control and cutting-edge digital management. The delegation also had the opportunity to preview several soon-to-be-released prototypes by Vivolight Medical. The experience was well received by everyone, and there was great anticipation for the products to hit the market and be utilized in clinical practice soon.
Bartolome Finizola, the head of the Venezuelan teaching hospital, expressed that Vivolight Medical is a company led by technology and dedicated to product development. Many new products offer fresh solutions that are needed in clinical practice. He hopes to have the opportunity to introduce these products to their country for clinical use as soon as possible.
